Why do I rely on online coaching?
Zoom meeting, virtual meeting via Teams, Skype or rather Face-Time? We have all been familiar with these web-based meetings since the coronavirus pandemic at the latest. Nowadays, not only in the context of work, but also in the private sphere. But is this format also suitable for private coaching? For trusting, serious and open discussions?
In this first article, I would like to explain to you why I have decided to work online and what great advantages I see in this format for you as a client.
Flexibility in terms of time and space
The most well-known argument is certainly the flexibility in terms of space and time. You don’t need to make the journey to my premises, but can take part from the comfort of your own home or the location of your choice. This option also extends our time availability, which makes it much easier for us to find a suitable appointment for you.
Safe room
The feeling of security is essential so that you as a client can open up in the process with me. I have often thought in the past that I would feel more confident in personal contact with a coach, but surprisingly the opposite is the case. As a client, I feel safer in my own space, which makes it easier to address difficult issues. Your own safe space also helps you to focus your attention on yourself. They are not distracted by me in the room or an unfamiliar environment, but can concentrate on themselves much more easily.
Writing as a process
Online coaching offers another major advantage. Writing. In the sessions, but especially via email or What’s App support between sessions, you have the opportunity to reflect on yourself through writing. Writing creates distance to your own feelings and thoughts, writing forces you to deal with challenging topics and writing offers you the chance to reread and process what you have learnt again and again. I’m a big fan of writing a diary or, as they say these days, journaling. You don’t have to fill pages every day for coaching or become a small author. I merely encourage you with my questions to think about your path in writing and to reflect on it carefully.
Cost factor
Last but not least, I can also offer online-based coaching at a lower cost for you, as no fixed costs for premises or travelling expenses have to be included in the price.
I hope that you have gained (even) more confidence in this coaching format and look forward to accompanying you on your journey. See you at Zoom 😉
